Couturiere Society is a non-profit organization that has been active in
the Allentown-Bethlehem-Easton area of
An inspirational and informative sewing related program is presented at
each monthly meeting. These programs may feature local or national sewing
personalities or workshops given by a member who is highly skilled in a
particular aspect of the sewing arts.
In addition, our monthly meetings offer an opportunity to trade
patterns, fabrics & notions, borrow books & videos from our lending
library, learn sewing tips, gain inspiration from the creations of other
members, and discover workshops on a myriad of needle arts topics being given
by our members for free!
The highlight of the Society’s year is our annual Scholarship Fashion Show, held each April. Every garment modeled in the show is made by our members, and all the proceeds from the Fashion Show provide college scholarships for students who are pursuing careers in fashion or textile design. To date we have awarded over $100,000 to deserving local students.
Our members range from sewing beginners to
those who win national competitions with their garments. We do have openings
for membership available.
